Our Approach

The Life Map Foundation tackles the core purpose of any species that is to sustain life for today’s generations – and tomorrow’s.

Addressing strategy

The Life Map Foundation is dedicated to helping address the strategic issue of population change with its impact on the Earth’s resources whether the regenerative capacity of the Environment or the currently exhaustive processes of Industry.  It also addresses the relationships we have between us through the role of Services and Humanities and our collective rights and individual responsibilities.

Empowering responsibility

At The Life Map Foundation, we strive to provide information to different stakeholders at different levels across different locations about the resources in their sphere of influence and how their individual and collective actions accumulate to sustain life.

The information designed for use by policy makers, for those involved with resource management, and throughout the education sector.

Auditing data

This process enables rapid reporting of collective performance and its impact to help continuously reassess and revise actions, so they are achieved quicker and at reducing cost by the organisations tasked with their delivery.

Engaging communities in sustaining life

By enabling Stakeholders access to information about their resources and the management of resources elsewhere that affect them, they can contribute to community actions and receive personal recognition whist protecting their individual identity.  They have the choice of being associated with the action in the public domain if they choose.

Our initiatives empower individual and collective communities to engage actively in stewardship, leveraging local knowledge and resources to implement effective practices and enhance resilience.

Our journey

We developed the strategy, empowerment, audit and engagement themes after witnessing the disjointed approaches to protecting and enhancing biodiversity, climate, and desertification.  We undertook a proof of concept in England looking at how this could be overcome for biodiversity that led to the design of The Life Map to enable a holistic approach in sustaining life by connecting issues and locations.

We contributed to the United Nations Environment Programme’s Coalition for Digital Environmental Sustainability and subsequently were included as one of the global stakeholders in the UN Action Plan for a Sustainable Planet in the Digital Age.

We are now speaking with different organisations with interests in the disparate components that sustain life about data and funding to develop the proof of concept turning the design into reality and, as a charity, doing this for public good.
